Swine Flu or Influenza (H1N1) is a disease related to Pigs. Recent death of 14 years old school girl from Pune has made the parents all over India very nervous over Swine Flu (H1N1). As a writer it is my primary duty to make the society aware about Swine Flu or Influenza (H1N1).

What is a Swine Flu (H1N1)?
Before taking on the remedies of Swine Flu, let us first understand what is Swine Flu really is?

Swine Flu or Swine Influenza is a respiratory disease generally associated with Pigs by type A Influenza A virus (H1N1 subtype). People only get infected on contact with an infected Swine Flu patent.

Signs and Symptoms of Swine Flu (H1N1)
The symptoms of swine flu are similar to common flu like severe cold. Cough, high fever, acute body pain, sneezing, sore throat, stuffy nose, headache, fatigue breathing problem due to cold and some times it is also associated with diarrhea and vomiting.

How does Swine flu (H1N1) spread?
Swine flu is also spread in the similar manner as seasonal flu that is by contact. Swine flu spreads from one person to another by coming in contact with people infected and by sneezing and coughing with influenza. You can also get infected by coming in contact or touching with something with swine flu virus on it and then touching your nose or mouth.

How Swine Flu can infect person spread to another healthy person?
A swine Flu infected person can infect another person beginning one day before the symptoms appear to 7 days after the person shows signs of swine flu. That mean you can infect another person before you knew that you are suffering from swine flu.

What can I do to avoid getting swine flu infection?
Most essential aspect wash your hand properly with soap or disinfected with 60% alcohol. Maintain your health, be hygienic, wear disposable masks with an FDA rating of at least N-95 to help check spreading the flu. Eat nutritious food avoid stress, have plenty of sleep. Drink sufficient fluids, don't touch contaminated surfaces and avoid as far as possible with swine flu infected people.

Safety methods for preventing swine flu
Swine Flu can be prevented by avoiding infected person. Always eat well cooked pork. Avoid pork and poultry food and maintain high standards of hygiene while coming from toilet, wash you hand properly.

On recognizing the symptoms of swine flu, immediately contact doctor.

How to prevent swine flu infection from spreading?

If you are infected by swine flu immediately isolate you self from coming in contact with other persons.

Do not go to office or other public placed; confine your self to home or hotels.

Cover your mouth and nose so that your cough and sneezing is not spread.

Throw the contaminated tissue paper or other clothing to dust bin.

Wash your hand properly every time you cough or sneeze.

What Should I do if I get sick?

In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention
Include:

1) Speedy breathing or trouble breathing
2) Bluish skin color
3) Not drinking enough fluids
4) Not waking up or not interacting
5) Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
6) Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
7) Fever with a rash

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention
Comprise of:

a) Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
b) Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
c) Unexpected dizziness
d) Perplexity
e) Rigorous or continual vomiting

Presently only two anti-viral flu drugs are efficient against swine flu. The two successful medications are: Oseltamivir (brand name Tamiflu to check and treat in people 1 year of age or older and Zanamivir (brand name Relenza is approved to treat people 7 years and older and to avert Influenza A and B virus infection in people 5 years.
