Tips to Help You Remember to Take Your Pills Everyday

Donna Daniels
Taking a pill everyday seems to be a very easy thing to do. But when you have taken a pill everyday for a long time the days start to run together and soon you can't remember if you took your pill today or not. When you add more pills to the day it is even harder. Then if you have your morning pills to take and your noon pills to take and your nighttime pills to take everyday it is more the complicated.

If you only take a pill or two everyday you can put the pill in one container and refill the container every Sunday. If you can't remember if you took your pill you can count the pills in the container to see if you have taken your pill or not. If you take more then one or two pills a day it get out of control with only one container.

You can buy one of those weekly pill container with the separate compartments for every day of the week. The containers can be bought in many forms. You can get one that just has the days of one week on the container. Or you can buy a container that has two weeks worth of pills that you can separate. Another container may have three compartments for every day of the week.

You can get one of the weekly pill containers at a drug store. When you get your pill container set aside a time every week for you to separate your pills into the separate containers. Sunday morning is a good time to separate your pills. Sundays are usually a quiet day and it is more likely you will take the time needed to prepare you pills for the week.

Once your pills are separated in the container with the separate pill compartments then try to remember to take your pills at the same time every day. That way you are more likely to remember to take your pills. Good times to take your pills are first thing in the morning before you do anything else. Or the last thing you do before you go to bed is a good time to take your pills. Some pills need to be taken with meals so be sure to take them at a meal time during your day.

Once you get into the habit of taking your pills it gets easier and becomes a part of your day just like brushing your teeth.
