Tips to Help Sell Your Gas Guzzling Vehicle

If you are one of the many owners of a large vehicle that uses allot of gas and has poor gas mileage you may be considering selling it and getting a vehicle that will get better gas mileage. The problem is with the gas prices it is harder to sell the vehicle because everyone wants to get a vehicle that is better on gas. Here are some tips that will help you sell that gas guzzler of a vehicle.

Before you try to sell your vehicle you will want to check out the price at NADA.com or Kelly Blue Book and see what the vehicle is worth. If you really want to sell it, you may want to list the price a little under the retail value to make it a great deal.

If you are selling a SUV you will want to mention the features of the vehicle and try to give the ad a positive spin to it. You will want to mention all the great features of your vehicle. You will want to emphasize the features that most people want the most. Does it have a GPS? If the vehicle still has a warranty you will want to mention that. If you look around your vehicle there will be allot of positive things that you will want to mention.

The next thing that you will want to do is list your vehicle in as many places as you can. There are some places online, like craigslist that is free to list a vehicle. If you list on craigslist you may not want to give your phone number, instead ask them to email you their number and you will call them back. You can do this without giving out your email address Craigslist will assign you an email that will mask your email address. If you do make arrangements to meet someone on craigslist, never go alone. Along with Craigslist, you can advertise your car online at different sites to sell your car. Usually the Auto trader is found in many towns and they will even come and take a photo of your car. This is inexpensive to do and you can get great results.

Placing a for sale sign in your vehicle is another way to advertise your vehicle, this way even when it's parked people will know it's for sale. Parking it while at work where you will get the most people seeing it during the day will help sell the vehicle quicker.

With the gas prices continually going up in price it may take you a few weeks to sell your vehicle but with advertising and patience eventually you will find a buyer for the vehicle.

My gas guzzling 4 wheel drive pickup does a lot of sitting these days, but she's good for the winter months!
