Tips to Hide Fat

With the weather warming up, it's getting to be harder to hide extra pounds under a loose sweatshirt or long coat. Yet there are still things you can do to appear slimmer and look your best.

Of course, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and getting enough exercise are some of the best ways to shed the pounds over the long run. But if you have a last-minute reunion or other event to attend, you'll want some quick ways to appear trimmer.

This guide is aimed toward the ladies. Here's some ways to hide the fat:

Wear a long, flowy skirt. Skirts are some of the most flattering pieces of clothes invented. Comfortable, feminine, and sexy, they streamline any unflattering bumps or bulges into a flowing line. Choose a lightweight, cotton skirt for the summer. Heavy fabrics that bunch can add bulk to your silhouette. You don't have this problem with cotton or other light fabrics.

Go with black. Yes, it's summer and it's hot. Sometimes black is not the way to go, especially if you know you're going to be outside in the blazing sun. However, if you'll have the blessing of air conditioning, black still remains the most slimming color. Unlike unforgiving white, black clothes have a slimming effect. Have a cocktail party to attend? For fun and festivity, you might want to go with bright colors and bold prints. If a trim figure is your primary goal, you'll be best off sticking with black.

Be choosy with your undergarments. Wearing two pairs of control top pantyhose can do the trick for tucking in a fat tummy. A trick frequently used by runway models, the hose will remind you to keep your tummy tucked and looking your best. You can also opt for a body shaper which can be found at most department stores.

Practice good posture. Slouching or poor posture accentuates a tummy and other unattractive features. Get in the habit of squaring your shoulders and holding yourself up straight when you walk or sit. This takes awhile to get used to, especially if you are a sloucher by nature, but this will get more and more automatic the more you practice.

Accentuate your best feature. Every woman has a feature they can flaunt, whether it be their arms, neck, shoulders, legs or chest. By drawing attention to your best feature, it will draw attention away from the things you want to hide. So don't be shy. Show off your best features and remember above all to be confident!
