Tips and Hints for the Stormwind Cooking Dailies in World of Warcraft

Cataclysm Dailies Earn XP, Guild Rep, and More!

Sophie Stillwell
The daily cooking quests in Stormwind are a great way to earn guild reputation and guild experience, so even if you are level 85 and have all the recipes available from the Chef's Awards, you should still consider doing them. Here are some tips and hints that will ensure they only take a few minutes of time every day.

Feeling Crabby? Catch 10 crabs in the Stormwind canals
This used to be my most hated daily quest - clicking on those crabs as they meandered around was maddening - but once I discovered this little trick, it became my favorite cooking daily. What you'll need to do is bind a couple of keyboard keys to "target nearest enemy" and "Interact with target."

As you swim around the canals, click your target button repeatedly until you've targeted a crab. Swim towards the crab while clicking your Interact button until you've nabbed the crab. Makes it a whole lot easier, doesn't it?

The King's Cider Collect 12 Juicy Apples
This is a fairly straightforward cooking quest, but it can be frustrating when other people snag an apple before you do. There are two locations where there are apple trees within a close range of one another, so even if you have competition there are usually plenty of apples to be had. The first location is in the Mage District (see photo 1) and the second in is Cathedral Square (see photo 2). The Mage District location has more trees closer together, but generally also has more competition; if there are already two or more people vying for the area, just fly on over to Cathedral Square and pick up your apples there.

A Fisherman's Feast Collect 5 Gigantic Catfish
It is definitely faster to collect barrels than it is to fish for the Gigantic Catfish for this Stormwind cooking daily, even with other competition flying around. There's a quick route you can take to check for barrels that should only take one loop to get all 5 of your fish (see photo 3).

Orphan's Like Cookies Too! Collect 4 Sacks of Confectioner's Sugar
For this quest, there are two sources of Confectioner's Sugar: spawn points in the various inns and some shops around Stormwind or from certain vendors. It appears that with patch 4.0.6, the spawn points have increased but the vendors and the amounts they carry have remained the same. Click on the link above for the various spawn points, as there are several, and always check with nearby vendors to see if they have any for sale.

One "secret" vendor that sells Confectioner's Sugar is the woman at the wagon behind the quest giver - Lisa McKeever.

Here's a tip for when the quest pops up again. Continue to check with the vendors after you've already collected your 4 sacks. While you won't be able to loot Sacks after you've gotten your 4, you can continue to buy them from the vendors. The extra Sacks will remain in your bags, at least as of patch 4.0.6.

Penny's Pumpkin Pancakes Collect 6 Stormwind Pumpkins
This is the most straightforward of all the daily cooking quests and therefore I have no tips or tricks to speed it up - just fly on over to the pumpkin patch, collect your pumpkins, and return to the quest giver. Certainly the easiest quest of the five.

Good luck and have fun building rep with and experience for your guild!
