Tips for Home Based Workers, to Keep the Job Enjoyable

Linda M. McCloud

If you work at home, you may hear all the time from friends how lucky you are. In many ways, you are lucky, especially if you are performing a job via home that you enjoy. However, there are some drawbacks from working at home. Many of these drawbacks, we actually bring on ourselves. Yet, they are solvable. They can even be stopped before they even start; if you follow some easy tips and suggestions.

Begin Each Morning As If You Were Going To Work

Yes, this means getting dressed, showering, etc. Those who do not work via the home think all home workers sits all day in the pajamas. This is just a stereotype and it is doubtful if many home workers ever do this. However, many probably do slack a bit off on their appearance. This is a basic no no that should be avoided.

Every home worker should start each day as if they were going into the office. This means you should: shower, shave, put on your makeup, fix your hair, put on some nice clothes, and yes, even add a little jewelry and a dash of cologne or perfume. What is the point since nobody will be seeing you but the kitty or the children? The point is you will know you did all of this. You will know you prepared for the day. You will know you look good. This will help your productivity.

Set A Schedule

Many homeworkers make the mistake in the beginning of just working when the mood strikes. This has a lot of down sides to it. You may work too much and not get enough rest. You may not work enough and not make enough money.

The best idea is to set a real schedule, a work schedule and a time schedule. Treat this as a job, even if you are the one setting the clock and the goals.

Take Time For Food

You must eat. Your body needs fuel. If you must do it, set an alarm to go off when you need to stop for lunch. But take that time and actually eat.

Take Time For Breaks And Exercise

Take a break every half hour or so. Try to get up and walk across the room. This will give your blood a chance to flow down your legs, keeping your circulation going. It will also give your brain a break. Once a day, try to take an exercise break, too. This can simply mean taking a small stroll during your lunch break.

Take Time To Socialize With Others

When you aren't working, make time to socialize with other people. It isn't good to spend all your time alone, whether you are making money or not. Remember people needs people, this includes you.

Yes, you can make good money staying at home. You may even enjoy it. However, make sure you take care of yourself while you take care of your finances.
