Tips for Indoor Cleaning-Clearing out Clutter
Clearing out any clutter in the house will make it look bigger and neater. Go through each room and remove any furniture and other items that are necessary for your family's day-to-day living. These items can be stored in a storage building. If you don't have a storage building it may be time to temporarily rent one until the house is sold.
Tips for Indoor Cleaning-Room by Room
Take one room at a time and clean it from top to bottom. Clear out any dust and cobwebs. Clean all the mirrors and windows. Shampoo the carpets and mop all the floors. Showing a house that is clean will help give the buyer a nicer image of the house for when they are picturing the home possibly being theirs.
Tips for Indoor Cleaning-Organizing
Go through each closet and organize it so that it looks organized and uncluttered. Opening a closet that has things falling out of it will not be appealing to an interested buyer. Hide the broom, mop, plunger, vacuum cleaner and ironing board these things make people think of the work aspect and takes away from the more pleasant thoughts that should be associated with a new house.
Tips for Indoor Cleaning-Repairs
Take the time to repair any leaky faucets and pipes. Replace stained carpet and flooring throughout the house. Remove any broken blinds from the windows. Repair any damaged areas and add a fresh coat of paint to the walls. Be sure to check the smoke detectors and alarms to see if they need repairs or fresh batteries.
By taking the time to do some cleaning, organizing and repairing, you can get the house in tip-top shape for prospective buyers. If cleaning is not your thing, you can always hire a professional cleaning service or a professional organizer to come in and do the work. The time and effort will be rewarded in the end when the house is sold..
