Tips and Information for Attendees of the 2008 Oregon Jamboree

The 14th Annual Oregon Jamboree is happening in Sweet Home, Oregon from Friday, August 1, through Sunday, August 3, 2008. This music festival features several big name country music acts. It is also one of the largest camping festivals in the country. This is a yearly event in the Cascade Mountains at a seven-acre park-like area. Camping includes RV and tent camping. For foodies, there are many food booths and even beer & wine gardens.

Among the stars scheduled to appear are two former American Idol alums. Kellie Pickler, who finished in sixth place in season five of the singing talent competition, will perform on Saturday, August 2, at 4:15 p.m. Her 2006 release of Small Town Girl spawned three Billboard Hot 100 singles, including "Red High Heels".

The second Idol alum scheduled to perform is Phil Stacey. Stacey appeared in the sixth season of American Idol, finishing in sixth place. The first single from his self-titled release "If You Didn't Love Me" debuted in the early part of 2008, with the full album released on April 29, 2008. Stacey will perform on Sunday, August 3, at 12 noon.

Big name artist performing include Sugarland, Trace Adkins, and Glen Campbell. Sugarland, a duo who features Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, will play hits from their two multi-platinum albums, including "Want To", "Settling", and 2007's "Stay" on Friday, August 1, at 9:15 p.m. Adkins, who first hit the music scene in 1996, is expected to play a mixture of songs from his seven studio albums. His latest release is a compilation of greatest hits entitled American Man: Greatest Hits Volume II. He will perform on Sunday, August 3, at 6:30 p.m. Glen Campbell, who has released over 70 albums, will have a variety of songs to choose from for his Jamboree performance on Sunday, August 3, at 2 p.m.

Gates for the event open at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 1, and they open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, August 2 & 3, 2008.

Ticket prices are for General Admission. The 3-Day General Admission ticket is $105. General Admission Tickets for each day (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) are $70. Children 7 to 12 years of age are $25 for the 3-Day Pass or $25 for a single day ticket. Children aged 6 and under are free, when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available through TicketMaster.

The 3-day camping pass is $70 and there is a charge of $25 for each additional vehicle. The purchase of concert tickets is required in order to make camping reservations.
