Apparently job seekers do not understand what employers look for when hiring potential employees.
When you are seeking a job make sure you have great interest in the job you are applying for and plan on making it a long term position. Employers want people who are going to be with the company longer than a day. If you are just curious about a job please do not waste your time or the employer's time. Employers want serious workers not curious workers.
Employers do not like to play phone tag or email tag. If you submit an application and claim to be serious about working then follow up with the employer in a timely manner.
When filling out an online application use proper spelling and grammar. Do not type in all upper case and do not type in all lower case. The same goes with paper applications, use proper spelling and grammar. If something does not apply to you, always use N/A.
Always use your full legal first and last name that you use when filing your taxes. If you want to get a pay check, the check needs to be addressed to the correct person and if you use your nickname on an application or middle name rather than your legal name, then your check will come to you with the name you submitted on your application.
Make sure you have the ability to follow basic instructions. When an employer sends you an email or gives you materials to work on that has specific detailed instructions, do as it says not what you feel like doing. Your ability to read basic instructions reflects on the decision if that employer hires you or not.
Working from home is the same as working outside the home with a little bit of flexibility. In order to make money from home you still have to work. If you cannot or will not do the work, then you will not make money. Some job seekers think working from home there is no work involved when in reality there is. You have to work to make money, there is not a job out there that will pay for you to just sit around doing nothing.
As a job seeker you need to be motivated and dedicated to work at home or outside of the home. Do not apply for a job if it is something you really have no interest in. Do not apply for a job if you cannot work immediately as some employers are looking for immediate hire.
