Jasmine Starr

There are some children that get pure out sick when they are riding in a car. If you are a parent that has a child that easily gets car sick while riding, you may want to try the tips in this guide. In this guide, you will find some simple tips on things you can do to try and prevent your child from becoming car sick or at least try to minimize the amount of car sickness that your child feels. So, let's take a look at some of the things you can do for your child.

Sit in the Front Seat

One of the things you can do to cut down on car sickness is let the child ride in the front seat. If it is not possible for the child to ride in the front seat of the vehicle, then let them ride in the middle of the back seat. A child being able to see where they are going will cut down on some of the sickness. So, let them sit in the front or in the back seat in the middle.

Sip on Ginger Ale

Ginger Ale is often used on people who have the virus or is nauseated. There is something about the Ginger Ale that will help with the nausea. So carrying Ginger Ale with you in the car for your child to sip on will help them with the car sickness. You can stop by the store and grab a bottle or keep bottles at home for when you have to go somewhere.

Snack on Saltine or Ritz Crackers

Crackers have the same affect as the Ginger Ale. They will also help with the nausea and is often used when someone has the virus or is nauseated and can't keep anything down. With the crackers, you simply nibble on them to keep the nausea to a minimum. So, if you are taking a trip, make sure you pack some Saltine or Ritz crackers to take with you. The child can keep nibbling on these to keep the sickness to a minimum.

No Reading

Do not let your child read a book or anything while they are riding. Reading will definitely make them sick if they get car sick easily. So, keep the child from reading to cut down on the sickness. Reading a book is just asking for the child to get sick.

Stop Often

If you are going on a long road trip, you should plan to stop often. Every 30 minutes or so is a good number. Stop and let the child get out and walk around a bit. Allow the child to stretch their legs and get some fresh air. This will also cut down on car sickness.

I hope these tips will help you some. I know it is awful to have a child that gets car sick every time they ride somewhere. And it is especially hard for the child and makes them not want to go anywhere.
