Tips on Keeping Your Children and the Person Who is Giving Out the Treats Safe on Halloween
Before You Go Trick or Treating, Take These Steps on Keeping Your Children Safe
Here is a list of dos and don'ts for both those who plan to go out and those who will be giving out the treats.
Make sure that you and each child has a good working flashlight and extra batteries. Not only will this help you see your way around but will help in not getting hit by cars.
Keep the children with you at all times. Go with the children to the doors and do not let them roam off or go into anybody's house that you do not know.
When walking down the street, do not walk close to the curb. Someone could pull up in a car and force you or one on the children into the car and be gone before you can do anything about it.
Try to stay where there are a lot of people.
Never eat any of the treats before you get home so you can check them out for open wrappers. Throw away any fruit! They can be injected with drugs.
Beware of anyone who is out in a costume and is not a child. They might cause harm to your children or try to take them.
If you are giving out candy, do not be alone. Someone could force his or her way into your home if you are alone.
Keep a light on by your door.
Keep cell phones on you at all times and make sure it is fully charged. Do not be hanging on the phone while going out.
These are just a few ideas. Maybe you can think of more. If so, please add the to the comments.
Note: For those who know and those who do not know about Beggar's Night (Penny Night), Oct. 30th, we have set up stores at Café Press to help the homeless. Please visit these shops and buy gifts for your family, love ones, friends and pets. Every penny we make will go to the homeless.

Post a CommentGreat ideas! I remember penny night also called damage night. We don't take the kids out for Halloween any more. We have parties, it is safer. I do miss doing door to door but times have changed.
