Tips for the Kitchen

1. Put the date on your egg carton when you purchase it.

2. You can tell if an egg has gone rotten by placing it in a bowl of water: if it floats it is bad, if it sinks it is good.

This is because when the egg starts to go off, a by product of this is gas which remains trapped in the egg, and thus it floats.

This has saved me many times from throwing eggs out.

What to Do If Your Marshmallows or Brown Sugar Harden In The Bag.

Add a fresh slice of bread to the bag and reseal. With a couple of hours to a day you will, have moist Marshmallows, and soft brown sugar.

I love this. As I don't always use up my marshmallows at once, plus sometimes the brown sugar sits for awhile and just turns hard.

Need a New Inexpensive Canister set.

Use the Jumbo Jars from Pickles.

Take and paint the lid the color you want in your kitchen, then hand paint or stencil

sugar, flour, noodles, etc. On the outside.

Everything stays nice and fresh. You can also have other jars for rice, oatmeal, spaghetti, and more. I have 5 jars myself.

They are simple, large, and nice and clear to see through. 1 jar will hold 5 pounds sugar or flour.

When eating ice cream and you get brain freeze (or that wonderful pain you get behind your eyes) all you have to do is put your tongue to the roof of your mouth behind your teeth to stop the pain. It works fabulously.
