There is no doubt you have been very nervous after you recently graduated from high school. As an incoming college freshman, you have big days ahead of you. You have made an arrangement to live on the campus dormitory. The idea you will have to live with total strangers is daunting to you.

Instead of panicking, you should relax. Even though it is a challenge, you can do it if you put your mind to it. By reading this article, you will learn the six commandments that a freshman should know about living with someone else.

The First Commandment for living on a Dorm: You are not going to like everyone you meet. Keeping this thought in mind should help you develop the perspective you need to thrive.

The Second Commandment for living on a Dorm: Not everyone you meet is going to like you. Although this is unfortunate, you have to deal with it. You can make it easier to deal with by developing a thick skin, reminding yourself you are not perfect and moving on.

The Third Commandment for living on a Dorm: You are going to get on someone's nerves. Although this is not guaranteed, it will probably happen whether or not you make an attempt to do it. Your best bet is to focus on not doing anything that will disturb or cause an inconvenience for the others.

The Fourth Commandment for living on a Dorm: Someone in the dorm is going to annoy you. You must get into the habit of not letting little things bother you. If a fellow resident does something that is serious, you should try to work things out with him or her.

The Fifth Commandment for living on a Dorm: You should make an attempt to get along with everyone. This is a good way to help establish peace and harmony. Furthermore, you will be happier if you keep in mind that neither you nor anyone else is perfect.

The Sixth Commandment for living on a Dorm: Life will go on. No matter how bad things might become, they will eventually get better and you will make it through this experience. It is up to you to hang in there and keep your spirits up.

You have learned the commandments a freshman should know about living with others. Follow them to make your experience of living on a dorm pleasurable.
