Tips on Looking Thinner in Pictures

Linda M. McCloud

Do you hate having your picture taken? Does it always seem like you look fat in pictures, even after you lost those ten pounds that have been annoying you? Do you look better in real life than you do in pictures? What are you doing wrong? What can you do to make sure you look thinner and better the next time someone wants you to smile and say cheese?

Today, there are cameras everywhere. There are even cameras on our phones. This may mean that you are being nagged more than ever to pose in pictures. This also means that we all need to learn to look our best and our thinnest before we are asked to say cheese again. Here are some tips to help.

Turn Sideways

Never pose yourself in a straight position. When you are getting your picture taken, turn your body slightly to the side. Place your one foot in front of the other one. Now place your weight on your back foot.

Watch How You Place Your Head

You should always slightly push your face forward, just a bit. This will help keep from looking like you have a double chin.

Pull Shoulders Back

Pull your shoulders back and push your chest forward. Now slightly suck in your stomach. But only do this slightly. If you completely suck in your stomach, so that your ribs are pointing outward, it will be noticeably in the picture.

Remember Objects Can Be Our Friends

Just as the stars will use objects to hide pregnancy, we can use objects to hide our imperfections. We can hold something in front of us to hide that belly we are still trying to flatten.

Spanx Can Be Our Friend

Yes, we can wear Spanx just as the stars can. If we are going to an event, where we know pictures are being taken we can wear Spanx. They may not be comfortable, but they can make us look ten pounds lighter and in the end isn't that all that matter.

Yes, these tips can help. This writer is currently in the process of learning how to perfect these tips as she ponders the idea of updating her photos on different sites.
