This first thing to do when thinking about losing weight is to be honest with yourself that you will commit to it. At the end of the day, you can be your greatest asset or your worst enemy, so it is up to you. You can join a gym and take the best classes but if you do not have self discipline you will not achieve it.
The second thing you should do is to eat foods that are rich in fiber. Your intake daily should be about 25 grams. 4 to 6 grams per meal would be good. Fiber will help to move foods through your system. Below are some foods that are rich in fiber-
1 apple 5 grams
1 cup of oatmeal 4 grams
2 pieces of wheat toast 6 grams
Another great tip to do is to use a scale and record your weight. You can get an idea of what foods are making you gain weight. Everybody is different so don't take for granted that you know for sure. The best time to weigh yourself is when you just wake up because you have not had any food yet. It would also be good to keep a log of exactly what you are consuming. Sometimes when you see it on actual paper, it makes it even more clear as to what you are putting into your body.
Exercise is vital in losing weight. Try walking for maybe 30 minutes every day for a week. See if you can raise it to 50 minutes or even an hour after 7 days. Start out slow. Don't push yourself too hard in the beginning because otherwise you will be more apt to falter.
Try to set a goal of maybe 1 pound per week that way you aren't losing too much too fast. It is reasonable that you can reach it. You want something that is attainable for yourself.
Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water. The water will make you feel full so you won't be tempted to overeat and also help to move food through your system.
Finally, tell others like friends and family about your mission to lose some weight. It is always easier when people can support you in what you are doing. That way, if you fall off the wagon, hopefully they can help you get back on it. Good luck!
