To make a simple knight costume all you need is tin foil, cad board boxes, string and an old pair of shoos or boots. If you have pads from sports they can also be quite useful. The first thing you need to do is measure the person you are trying to make the costume for. Measure their chest, arms and legs.
Now take a card board box and flatten it. Measure it around there belly and chest so that it goes about half way around. Now cut off the top corners, so that the arms will be able to move without difficulty, and cut out a little piece for the neck. Now that you have that piece done copy it to another piece of card board and put holes in the spots where the shoulders would be. Now cover the thing with tin foil so that it looks like armor. You might want to spin the hole thing around a couple times to make it sturdy. Once you wave done that, punch holes in the top and connect the shoulders with string so the thing lies kind of like a vest. You can choose to put more strings to tie the sides up if you want.
The next piece you want to make is the gauntlets. Take a small piece of card board that is a little shorter then the one who is going to wear its forearm. Roll it over on itself so that it cut it so that it is just a little bit short of going all the way around the arm. Copy it for the other arm and cover them individually with tin foil. Poke holes through and use string to attach them. Remember to use a bow knot when putting them on or else it will be difficult to undo them.
Now repeat the process from the arms for the legs. It will be almost exactly the same except for it will be a greater size.
Now wrap tin foil around your head from your eyes up, and make a nice point at the top. Now add a piece that will go down to your neck by curling the tin foil an itself and hooking the new piece to it. You can add a face guard afterword if you desire.
Now that you have the rest done take your shoes and fit them with the tin foil. Pinch it tight as best you can. And you will find that you have made yourself a cheap but neat knight costume.
If you have sports pads you can add them to your costume after you put the tin foil on them. It will add a lot to the costume, and make it look a little bigger and more heroic.
