Mix one Gallon fresh milk with 2 cups honey in a bath of warm water. Add rose petals to the water, and light candles for quick luxury. If you would like to store a recipe for more uses, you can use dried milk. I have used the fresh milk and it feels delicious, I like whole milk for extra pampering.
Ancient Style Milk Bath
These ingredients are moothing and soothing and can make you feel delicious.
1 cup powdered milk
2 Tbls almond meal
2 Tbls. Oat flour (or you can use barley flour)
A few drops of essential oils
½ cup dried flowers like lavendar and rose petals
Mix the ingredients together in a bowl. You can sprinckle 2 Tbls. Into bath or make a tea bag from the health food store and seal the bag using folled barley or oat flakes instead of flour.
Soak in the bath for about 20 minuts. Put on a pair of fuzzy slippers and a bathrobe and feel fresh and clean.
You can store in a pretty tins or old bottles.
The shelf life of the dried mixture is up to 3 months.
A More Modern Milk Bath
You can use milk, baking soda and cornstharch for more smoothing and soothing and epsons salts soften the watter and skin. Or use sea salt for a toning effect.
Use:
1 cup powdered milk
½ cup epsom salts
1 tbls baking soda
1 tsp cornstarch
a few drops of essential oils.
½ cup dried rose petals or lavendar
Mising the ingredients together, can be used straight in the bath or put in the tea bags.
You can add soap flakes to the bath for foaming. If you don't want to use the flowers, you can skip them, but they will make you feel special.
Some essential oils to consider, are rose, lavendar, or lily of the valley for their relaxing properties. Rose is good for the skin. Carrot essential oil is also good for the skin. I like a blend of geranium, sweet basil and lemongrass for an invigorating blend of fresh garden scent.
You can also make bath salts using
1 cup epsom salts
1 cup sea salt
20 drops essential oil blend
and 10 drops of food coloring are an option
Mix the salts together, take ½ cup blend and add the oil and color. Mix well and blend in with the rest of the salt mix. You can also use kosher salt if you can't find sea salt. It is inexpensive. And a treat. Let cure for a week, shaking each day in a glass container. Store in a tin or fancy box when ready. Use ¼ cup per bath.
