Bowling Party Invitation:
Are you having a party where they are bowling? These invitations are easy to make, you need to have white card stock and black construction paper. With the card stock you want to cut out a shape of a bowling pin. Make it as large as you can on the card stock. I did one per sheet. On the bowling pin itself you will write the details about the party so you want to make sure you have room to write everything. You write the party details on the pin, and then fold the pin in thirds. Fold the bottom of the pin about 1/3 of the way up and then the top of the pin down. This will cover all your information, and with the top of the pin folded over you will have a place to seal it. When you seal the bowling pin, you will cut out a nice size bowling ball with the black construction paper then tape it on the pin to close it. You can then place it in an envelope or just write the child's name on the outside of the pin.
Computer Generated Invitation:
If you have PowerPoint on your computer you can make an invitation PowerPoint show for the birthday event. These are real easy to do, create different slides of your show, with the last slide showing the party details, you can add sound if you like, in the clip-art for music there is a clip for birthday songs that is already loaded with the program. You can add buttons to the bottom of each slide so that the child would have to click to get to the next slide, or what I did was saved the PowerPoint show as a "PowerPoint show" and not a presentation, this allows it to play on any computer and will open and play automatically. You can specify that if you go to File>Save As> then in the drop down box chose "show". This is not only entertaining, but they are really fun to make. You can add your child's picture in it if you want to and that would really make it personalized.
You can create your own invitations on the computer using different programs like Word, Publisher, and even download the pictures and graphics that you like online. You can then decorate the invitation with ribbons, glitter, and other material to make the invitation come alive.
Having a sleep over? The invitation can be a cut out of pajamas you can then place a cute head on the pajamas and cut outs like stick arms and legs and make it really cute. You can put the party information on the pajamas and place in an envelope and send them out. If you are having a theme party you can also put that information and decoration on there.
There are many ways that you can make your own invitations and have them exciting and unique for each party that you have. There is no need to buy the invitations at the store when you can create them and personalize them at home.
