Marketing a Child Care Business - What You Provide
The most important thing in marketing a child care business is deciding what you provide that will attract clients. Marketing yourself as a caring babysitter is fine, but it may not give your home-based business the oomph it needs to bring in true profits.
If necessary in your state or township, be sure to get licensed. A parent who views your child care license will automatically trust you a little bit more. Get a home inspection by a child welfare organization to further put their minds at ease.
Besides being legal and licensed, it is vital to give parents information about what services you provide. Marketing your child care business starts with the benefits. Do you do all day or just after school? What ages will you watch? Do you provide meals or snacks, craft projects, field trips? Once you have outlined and explained all your benefits, it is time to get that information in front of the potential clients.
Marketing a Child Care Business - Word of Mouth
Perhaps the best way to market your child care business in your home is through word of mouth. Parents trust their friends' opinions about who provides quality care. Spread the word among your friends that you will be providing child care at home. They will tell their other friends and co-workers, and your business will become known.
After you engage a client or two, encourage them to spread the word about the child care business in your home. You may even offer an incentive, such as a discounted week rate, for clients who entice their friends to sign up.
Marketing a Child Care Business - Advertising Methods
To jump start your at home child care business, or expand it futher, you can turn to other advertising methods. Taking an advertisement out in the newspaper is a good idea. Be sure to read other child care ads first and write one that stands out from the others. There is a lot of competition out there. Other methods of marketing a child care business in your home is by posting flyers in libraries, supermarkets, and community centers. These will catch the eye of just the sort of person you are looking for.
