Tips to Minimize and De-Emphasize a Large Waistline

Move the Focus from Your Waist to Your Face

Malina Debrie
There are many ways to remove the attention from a large waistline to other areas of the body. A few wonderful tips to minimize and de-emphasize a large waistline are particularly desired. When utilized correctly these tips can draw the focus from the waistline up to the face or down to the hips.

Women in large numbers are walking around with huge waistlines. Sometimes the problem is not with just plain old laziness as most want to think but related to the amount of stress endured.

A large waistline is sometimes in exact proportion to the amount of stress endured during their previous years. A large waistline reveals the detrimental affects life may have had on the person. With the amount of stress some women have to deal with on a daily basis or when the baby fat is out of control, the result can be either medical or shown in the weight gained. With these tips, while increasing your abdominal exercises, you can remove the emphasis from the waist to the face.

Sometimes we fail to realize that the clothes we wear can be used to positively enhance our figures. Or, those same clothes can diminish your features tremendously. Have you seen large women with major fat around their waist wearing tight fitting shirts, pants or even clothing that brings the focus to their waistline?

Sometimes you want to go to these women and ask them to please change their clothing to something less revealing. These are the women people often ask "Are you pregnant." Or they ask, "When is the baby due." The most embarrassing situations have occurred because a woman may look pregnant but is really only retaining a massive amount of fat around the waist.

Then too, some women have no idea how bad it looks when they emphasize instead of de-emphasize a large waistline. While working to restore your waistline to the normal width for your age and size, there are ways to minimize the size. Use accessories that are already in your closet or take a trip to the mall.

Wear A Belt Enhanced With A Gold or Silver Buckle

A belt worn just below the waistline and pulled down brings the focus from the waistline to the belt. The appearance of the buckle removes the focus from the waist to the buckle. All of a sudden, you have the appearance of a slimmer body rather than one with a large amount of additional weight around the waist. The total look begins to be slim and not frumpy. Take a look at this belt and the way it is positioned. With the focus placed just below the belly button it brings the attention away from the midsection down. Even moving the belt a little to the left or right and down can remove the focus to de-emphasize a large waist.

Draw Attention to Your Neckline

Bringing the attention from your waist up to your neck will decrease and de-emphasize the healthy waistline. Wear a large bold necklace that falls right in the middle of your chest like the one here. Wear blouses that open right in the middle of your chest without being revealing. Remember you don't want to appear to be an easy mark, just remove the focus from your waist. With the new bold look in jewelry, wear one of those pieces you have in your armoire that works a large flower or bold pearls. This necklace (here) hanging at the center of the chest right above a 'V' necklace would keep everyone looking focused on your neck and nothing else. If these are not your style, personalize the necklace you have or want and wear it with class and confidence.

Wear Loose Fitting Blouses or Sweaters

Never wear tight clothing when you have a large waistline. Wear blouses that hang. go shopping for the blouse that emphasizes your body without drawing attention to your waistline. there are thousands available. We are no longer bound to designers with one focus. Fashion designers today design for the total woman and not just those strolling down the Paris runways. Women can wear fashions from any area. It just takes a little time. Try on blouses like this one here. You can dress this one up or down. Wear it with your two piece suit to work or even to the ball game over a pair of jeans. Or for a night out, what about this gorgeous top that can be worn on or off the shoulders from Zappos.

Wear The Always Reliable Blazer

A Blazer is a woman's life saver. have on e in all sizes or designs in your closet. when the body does not want to work with you, cover it up and head out for a night on the town, shopping spree or to that favorite baseball game. A blazer can be the one piece that makes every outfit a classic. When your waistline is a little off kilter, cover it with a blazer. The boxy boyfriends can be worn casually or dressed up for evening wear. Let's pray designers never stop making blazers. Look at these examples of blazers that would be perfect Jessica London, McQueens Boyfriend Blazer Suit or The Tuxedo Wardrober. Play around with fashion. When the body does not want to act right or is a little out of kilter, make the design or designer work for you.

I think this is a good idea; moving attention from the waist to the face. But it's also insidious!

I'm working really hard to keep my waistline; but it's nice to know what to do if I lose the battle of the bulge.
