Tips for Moving Up the Corporate Ladder

K. Jackson,
My idea of moving up in any career is by keeping a positive attitude; do not let negativity set in. In any business it is normal for gossip among employees, and from my experience the gossip around the office setting can be the majority of the time negative. But it is important to not think so much about it, self motivation can be difficult to achieve but it is possible. I believe in any type of job it is all about looking out for number one (yourself). It is also good when working in the corporate field to get to know the people that help make the job function.

The best way to move up in a business is by 1) Have a good level of communication with your boss, this shows that you are serious and all about doing the best possible for the company. 2) If you have any opinions or ideas that you feel could help improve the company and benefit both yourself and the company you work for then share in meetings your input. I think that is one of the problems in a business, the lack of truly expressing ideas and opinions in meetings. Of course it also helps to work hard at what you do, your boss may not acknowledge everything that you do but they know. From my experience hard work goes along way, and not only will your boss recognize the work that you do for the company but other coworkers will know also. All the hard work you put into the company will help you stand out among others, and those higher ups will realize that you are serious and dedicated. And this will provide bigger and better opportunities with a higher salary and more experience under your belt. In the corporate world it is all about dedication and hard work and working as a team to accomplish goals and to increase your reputation.

Being proactive is the key to success and improving ones career and reaching goals, I think it is important. When looking for a job, I think that it is important to find a job that you know for sure that you will stay in for a long period of time not just for a few weeks or months. And prove not only to yourself but to the employer just how serious and driven you are for success and moving up to a brighter future.
