If you are planning on choosing a baby name based on your family tree or your families tradition, you do not need to do that. Something that you might want to consider is naming your child using a name that comes from your heart and is something that you feel many people will enjoy calling your child. You will want to name your child something that will help define who he or she is.
When naming your child, you sometimes might want to think about how it may affect him or her in the future. You might want to think about a name that will fit very well with her or her a long way down in the future. Think of something that other people will call her. Be able to visualize he or she being called a certain name by many different people.
When choosing a child's name, try naming your child based on a good set of initials as well. You do not want to name your child something funny or with initials that might be abused, unless you want to name your child after someone or something famous, this might be a good way to go.
Try not and name your child anything that rhymes with something funny either. You do not want your child to be made fun of because of his or her name. Also try and remember not to name your child some name that is too outlandish.
Choose the name wisely and again, make sure that you and your partner can both agree on the name so that later on in life, if something is to come up, that there is no one to blame for naming the child. You can always get a nick name for your child too when growing up that you can call him or her, that might be better than the original name you named them. For example, I originally named my little girl Trinity, but we never call her that name. We started calling her baby cakes and then adopted the name Cakies for her and now that is all we call her.
