Tips for Online Businesses: A Surefire Way to Entice Your Prospects

Jessica Mousseau
Any online business knows that there is 100% truth in the old adage "the money is in the list." A mailing list is the heart and soul of any business. If you had a list of prospects to contact every time you added a new product to your website, then your marketing efforts would be seriously simplified, since a large mailing list would have a large base to impress/remind of you and the products they want from you.

Through the offering of a relevant download, one can build up a targeted list of prospects that increases the percentage of sales that you will make considering the advertisement size. With a simple assessment, one can realize easily that they don't need to offer something as great as software like iTunes to be successful in this field. Prospects can be attracted in great numbers with some simple, but quality freebies- free buddy icons, free screensavers, etc. The prospect need simply be willing enough to give their e-mail for the quality download that you offer them.

A simple download link, however, will never be enough to attract actual buyers. Some good research and information will lead you to develop exactly what will blaze the trail for your prospects to offer their e-mails. A download form must be prominently displayed on your website, in order for this method to be successful. It would be preferable that the form appears on at least one page of every website that you operate. Thus it is impossible that your prospects not find or see the download form (so prominently flashed before them), and they cannot but help be converted into prospects through your e-mail messages.

As has been mentioned, effort must be placed into promoting said download. The values of the download must be greatly glorified so that the apparent value of it will shine to any reader/visitor. One might consider why anyone would pass on a useful download, but some people are just too lazy to even fill out a form to get what they want. Especially since most of their downloads just become useless desktop icons. Thus the value of your download must be greatly enhanced to cause them to at least download it, and thus be made into possibly profitable prospects.
