Tips for Packaging Christmas Candy

Amy Brantley
Christmas candy can be a great gift, especially if you have several people on your list. Of course, how you package Christmas candy can make a big difference. While you don't have to spend lots of money, there are some tips you should keep in mind so that the presentation is as beautiful as the candy is tasty.

Be Careful of Conflicting Tastes

One problem you may face when packaging Christmas candy is conflicting flavors. It's not uncommon to make peppermint flavored treats during the Christmas season. But, you have to remember that packaging these treats along with buckeyes or peanut butter fudge can cause the peanut butter candies to taste horrible. One way to avoid this is to package the candies in separate containers. If you're making candy for dozens of people though, this can be quite expensive. An alternative is to tightly wrap the peppermint flavored candies in wax paper before placing them in with the other candies or to place them in a zip top bag.

Keep the Presentation Festive

There are a number of ways to add a festive flare to the inside of a Christmas candy box. One way is to place the candy on a bed of red or green tissue paper. Another decorative idea is to place small candies inside mini cupcake liners that have a Christmas theme. This not only makes the candy look festive, but it makes the candy look more impressive as well.

Package Everything in a Beautiful Box or Tin

There are a number of beautiful packages designed specifically for Christmas treats. One of my favorites is Chinese takeout boxes that are printed with a Christmas theme. You can usually purchase ten of these boxes for less than $5. Another popular option is Christmas tins. These are a wonderful option because they can be reused year after year. Of course, if a regular Christmas box catches your idea, you can also use that. The sky's the limit. You can even find food storage containers that have a Christmas theme. Lastly, if you're packaging Christmas candy for a large number of people, plastic treat bags are the perfect option. They cost around $5 for 25 bags and are just as cute as the larger options available.
