The Internet makes shopping fun and easy. You can shop in the middle of the night, right in your pajamas. So, when you register for wedding gifts, why not consider an online wedding registry? Not only will an online wedding registry make it easy on you, but it is an added convenience to your wedding guests. Online wedding registries are so popular that many department stores now offer this feature. When you use an online wedding register, you can save time and money by using this one stop shopping feature. Here are some tips for using an online registry with ease.

Take some time to just browse the stores you are interested in to find just what you are looking for. Browsing online is much easier than running from store to store. Many large department stores and websites have an interactive feature that allows you to try out certain decorating looks right online. Even if you are not planning on registering on that particular website, you can get plenty of great ideas. In fact, many stores such as Target, Wal-Mart and Home Depot offer many of the same styles of pricey department stores and offer online wedding registry.

Before choosing a store for registering check the shipping and return policies. If the only way your guests can purchase the items is via the Internet, then you need to consider the shipping fees. For your own benefit, check out how easy it will be to make a return. Even though your register for items and hope there are no doubles, returns are inevitable. You want to make sure this process is as easy as possible.

All good bride and grooms should use proper wedding etiquette and register for items of various prices. You can't and wouldn't expect everyone on your wedding list to buy expensive china or crystal. There are plenty of things you will need that cost less, so shop around and get a good variation.

Register at multiple stores. You don't have to register at just one store when you get married. In fact, many brides now register at several stores. This is not being greedy, it is to accommodate your guest that may not shop at expensive department stores or may not have certain stores near their home. When you register online, you can expect some of your guest to use it, but there are many people who still prefer going to the actual store to purchase items.

Check your online registry list frequently. If you notice that most of your items have been bought weeks prior to your wedding, then nothing says you can't register for more items. There are many late shoppers get to the store and find the only gift left is very expensive, so take the time to register for cheaper items you need or want.

How about including your honeymoon in your register list? Did you know that you can do this? There are several websites that allow you to register for your dream honeymoon? This is a perfect idea for those that may have all the household items they need. Your guests can purchase honeymoon upgrades, meals, massages and more on these websites.

When you register online, consider registering for the things that you really need. Try to avoid the newest expensive fads and electronic equipment. These are really not wedding gifts and your guests generosity can go much further on filling the true needs of your new home. In addition, while you may think you need that expensive kitchen gadget, if you are not a great cook, or hate cooking, then why register for it? Those types of items are expensive and bulky to ship for guests that buy over the Internet. Avoid these items if possible.

Check your registry online often for duplicate purchases. This happens too frequently in retail shopping. With shoppers online and offline there is a good possibility that a purchase is either occurring near the same time or a clerk has not done their job. Online registry does a much better job at recording items, however remember that some people may forget to take items off of your list when they are purchased. Check often and make sure this does not happen.

Online wedding gift registry is a great idea because it saves you a lot of time and saves your guests a lot of time, too. Don't drag your fiancé all over town for three days finding stuff to put on your registry. Use the Internet to find the things you need.
