High school reunions are one of those events that certainly should not be missed. We are always eager to know how the people we went to high school with is doing. With the help of social networking sites, we can find just about anyone we want. However, it still is a far cry from actually getting together and talking face to face. Organizing such an event can be stressful, so allow these tips for planning a 10 year high school reunion guide you.
First, to make things more organized and to make people to do things faster, committees should be formed. Contacting the people who were leaders and class officers in your year and looking for local classmates will need to be done first. From there, you can start coming up with ways on how to assign them with tasks such as invitations, food and beverages, music, decorations, and venue planning. You will also need, and this is important, one person to oversee the master list and keep it upgraded as people reply.
The budget should be set, and details should be reflected. You have to determine how much is needed per attendee to cover the expenses, such as printing and sending out the invitations, venue deposit, and phone calls (long distance).
Thankfully, contacting classmates has become easier since Facebook and other social networking sites have made it easier for reunions and classmates to connect. You can contact people from your group there and inform each other about the reunion.
Scout for a venue. If you had a favorite hangout then, check to see if it's still operating. Clubs or banquet halls are also other options. For families who are out of town, look for discounts at local hotels. Ask also who will be able to attend so that the number of people for booking the area can be finalized.
There should be a bank account to which money from attendees will be sent to. Opening one is easy and should be assigned to the budget committee. That way, sending money from other cities will be easy via the internet.
These are some of the tips that you may find useful when planning a 10 year high school reunion that can help you be more organized.
