Tips for Planning a Group Camping Trip

Mrs. Renee
If you really enjoy camping as a fun family filled vacation, why not plan a fun group camping trip. There are several things that you want to do in order to plan out your group camping trip. When coordinating with other people it is important to plan things out first. Below you will find a few simple ideas and suggestions.

Pick a location with group sites

When it comes to camping group sites are really a must when you are planning to take multiple people. There are some campgrounds that do not have group campsites so be sure to check before making your reservation. What is really nice about the group sites is that you can set up your tents in a nice community like style. Many in a group camp site like to set up the tents around the camp fire. Of course with a group camp site you can set up the tents any way that you like. Keep in mind that some group camp sites require you to have a certain number of people in order to reserve the group area. Another feature that many enjoy about the group campsites is that they are a little more isolated from other people and you get a lot more space.

Let the group know about registration

With most campgrounds you will need to register when you arrive at the campground. Most of those who want to camp with you will need to arrive by a certain time. It is best to look at park rules and then send a copy of it to each family who will be joining you for the camping trip. Everyone will not have to arrive at the same time, but knowing how much time they have is really beneficial.

Prepare meals as a group

Everyone brings their own food on the camping trip, using coolers to hold most things. When you have a group camping together it is often a good idea to cook all of your food at the same time, and then share what you have. This makes for a nice big meal and you always end up with more than enough food for everyone.

Don't plan activities

Part of the fun of camping is to just let things happen. Just because you are camping as a group, this does not meant that you have to do everything together. Most of the time part of the group may do one activity, and the other part of the group may do another activity.
