Tips for Preparing for a Pageant in Metro Atlanta

I competed in the Miss GA USA pageant a few years ago, and it was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the preparation that went into preparing for the pageant, and all the great people that I met. If you're interested in competing in a pageant, you need to know where to go to find a great dress, and who to go to for pageant coaching, and stuff like that. There are many resources that you can find, but here are some great picks that I know of.

Pageant coaching- For pageant coaching there are schools, like Premiere School of Modeling and Self-Improvement. The school is run by Danita Florance, a former Mrs. Georgia. There you will receive preparation with interviews, consultations with choosing your dress, swimwear, nutrition, workout regime, etc. It is a great place to go for pageant coaching. Other great places are Patti Dunn Simmons' pageant coaching school, The Crowning Touch. You can go to www.pattisimmons.com for more information. Also, Miss GA USA 2005, Tanisha Brito, also offers pageant consulting. Visit her website at www.britoandlewisimage.com .

Dresses- Cinderella's Closet and Bonnie's Boutique are two of the best places in Georgia to go to purchase pageant dresses. Their shops are where many pageant winners have gone to get their dress. The shops are staffed with very knowledgeable and helpful people who have worked with pageant contestants for many years. Both shops also supply pageant swimwear.

Fitness - I don't recommend any specific trainer. Most pageant coaches have fitness trainers that they recommend that have done excellent jobs for the contestants that they work with. If not, I suggest going to a gym and working out at least three days a week. I personally recommend fitness videos, because you can follow along with them from the convenience of your home, and do it whenever you need to. I mainly used 10 Minute Solution Pilates. This video did wonders for me as far as getting into shape quickly, and really sculpting my body.

These are some guidelines for finding pageant success in the Atlanta area. It will definitely help you get off to a great start. So, get ready for hard work and preparation as you prepare to secure the crown for the pageant you are competing in. But, most of all, remember the power of confidence. The more you prepare, the more confident and competent you will feel. This goes without saying, no matter what pageant or what state you are competing in. Good luck!
