Dehydration is a frequent problem is summer, when heat and temperature rises above 45 degree centigrade. Dehydration is a phase, when body loose more water than it consumes or holds. Dehydration can occur due to sunstroke when excess of body fluids are lost due to sun's heat or it can occur due to diarrhoea when body looses excessive body fluids and salts due to loose motions or it can also cause when you do extensive workouts in hot sun. Dehydration can also occur when you have high temperature and body tries to sweat more to reduce the body temperature.

It is a good practice to drink sufficient water in summer, a average human being should be taking at least 8 ounces of fluids either water or any other fluids to prevent loose of fluids in summer. Drink water before and after going out in hot summer thus keep the balance of water and body fluids intact.

Don't wear dark dress in summer in order to keep body temperature normal and use loose fitted white or light coloured dress with half sleeves. Dress plays very important part in preventing dehydration.

Take fleshy and juice fruits in summer to restore some of the body fluids which are lost in course of the day. Eat ripe mango, water melons and other melons family fruits and vegetables help in reinstate body fluids.

Administer oral dihedral liquids like ORS, or prepare fresh dihedral liquids by taking one liter of water add one spoon of sugar and a pinch of salt into it and steer well. Give in regular intervals the ORS liquid to prevent dehydration stage.

If the stage of dehydration level is critical, take medical advice and if required administer intravenous dihedral fluids to prevent critical conditions.

For athletics who do regular workouts need to take care of their body fluids twice than a normal person. They should use sports fluids which are rich in sodium, before, in between and after a strenuous workout to restore lost body fluids.

Therefore to prevent excessive dehydration this can lead to kidney failure and also some times causes death. We should safe guard ourselves and our loved ones by taking sufficient precautions in summer. There is a saying prevention is better than cure.
