Could that be the reason my feet are always smarting by the end of the day. The thought of one more errand makes me cringe in anticipatory pain as I know I will have to do more walking in my favorite boots.
I think, rather, than give up the shoes, I will research ways to "beat" foot pain, after all it simply cannot be those boots. Those boots were on sale and they are so cool.
Ways to overcome foot pain-natural is not always the best
How many of us go barefooted once we are inside our homes? I know I do. That is more for the cats' safety as well as my comfort (Barefoot I can tell if I am stepping on a tail and do less damage than if I am wearing three inch heels) However, walking barefoot can overstretch your plantar fascia (that is the band of tissue running under your foot) which can increase the risk of being in pain. Wear socks at the least, slippers at the most inside the comfort of your own home. In addition, if you chose to wear slippers, upgrade them to include arch support. Arch support simply alleviates aches... everything in footwear that you own should have arch support. I know my ultra comfortable boots so, another reason to justify that my foot pain does not stem from them.
Ways to overcome foot pain- if the shoe fits
Have you ever had to break in a new pair of shoes? I know I have... my bad there. Shoes should not have to be "broken in". If they are a tight fit, and you hope, as I have in the past, that they will stretch to fit... then the shoes were and are too small for our feet. No matter is that was the only size they had in a shoe that we loved, the shoes were too small.
Ways to overcome foot pain- this little piggy...
Remember when we were young our parents would play this little piggy with our toes, and then we carried on the tradition with our own children, but not our own feet. Think about it, children do not complain of foot pain. (Okay, that is a huge stretch but work with me here). When we wiggle our toes we are providing circulation to them, thereby improving our circulation overall. So go ahead, wiggle your toes, and sing the sing if you feel like it.
Ways to overcome foot pain- comfort attire does not equal smart attire
Do you still own your favorite shirt from college? Some clothes are comfort clothes and that is fine. However, if you are still holding onto the same pair of tennis shoes that you have had for years because of comfort or the a pair of sandals that are your favorite during the month of August, toss them, please. Shoes that are worn do not absorb shock, ergo; foot pain can increase when we wear them. (I have tossed my three favorite pairs of shoes for this reason.)
Ways to overcome foot pain- even steven
Trim toe nails. Keep them cut straight across your toes but no shorter to prevent snags, and ingrown nails.
With all these tips, I can keep on wearing my three inch boots, because after all, three inch heels are better for you than four -six inch heels.
