Indulge Yourself on a Budget!

Beauty tips often recommend treatments such as facials, exfoliants and masks are a luxurious way to pamper yourself and leave your hair and skin feeling beautiful and healthy. Unfortunately, these beauty treatments can be expensive. The good news is that you can create homemade treatments for a fraction of the cost of similar store-bought varieties. Try these three beauty tips for homemade beauty treatments the next time you could use some indulging.

First Beauty Tip:

Start with your hair. If you suffer from dry hair, try this homemade recipe.
1 egg
1 tablespoon olive oil
ΒΌ cup cucumber, peeled and diced

Blend the ingredients together and spread evenly throughout your hair. For long hair, double the recipe. Place a plastic grocery bag over your hair, holding it in place with a hair clip. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

If your hair is oily, try this homemade beauty treatment. Puree 1 - 2 cups of carrots. Apply to hair, cover with a bag, and leave on for 10 - 15 minutes. Rinse well.

Second Beauty Tip:

Use homemade beauty treatments to keep your face looking young, healthy and glowing. For any type of skin, try this tip using a common household product. Pull your hair back away from your face and into a ponytail or headband. Cover your face with a thin layer of Kraft Miracle Whip (the brand is specific). Leave on your face for 10 minutes and gently massage off. Rinse your face with lukewarm water. Repeat daily. This treatment will slough off old skin; after about six weeks to two months, you will see an amazing difference!

If you have combination skin, try this tip for a simple but effective homemade beauty treatment. Mix old-fashioned oatmeal with just enough water to create a clay-like mask. Apply to your face in a thin layer and let dry. Use a washcloth to exfoliate your face and wipe off the oatmeal. Rinse with warm water several times. Follow with a few splashes of very cold water; using this tip will also help your pores appear smaller.

Third Beauty Tip:

You can create homemade beauty treatments for your body as well. If you have dry skin anywhere on your body, this tip for a homemade skin treatment is sure to please. Combine one part olive oil with one part sugar. If desired, add a bit of your favorite essential oil. Standing in the shower, scrub your legs, arms, anywhere you suffer from dry skin with this sugar scrub. Massage it in well, as not only will the sugar exfoliate your skin, the oil will soak in and moisturize. Rinse off and pat dry.

I am not sure I could stand the smell of Miracle Whip on my face. I didn't know that a sugar scrub was actually sugar! interesting!!! and yes, much less money than store bought. Thanks.
