Do you have achy fingers or stiff joints in your hands? Do you have heel pain or achiness in your heels that make them feel tight? Here are some tips that may help both of these very common ailments.
Achy Fingers
Achy fingers can be caused by plain arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. This achiness can make simple tasks such as working on the computer problematic. Yet, there heat and a simple solution may help ease your pain.
- Gently rub some mineral oil onto your knuckles, into your fingers and even into your palms. Allow the oil to soak freely into your skin.
- Put on a pair of dish washing gloves and place your hands under some warm running faucet water. The warmth of the water along with the oil should help loosen up the joint muscles and slowly begin to relieve your achiness. Allow your hands to stay under this water for five minutes or so.
Heel Pain
Heel pain is usually caused by a condition known as plantar fascia. This is a common condition in which the tissue at the bottom of your foot that connects to your heel bone becomes inflamed. This can be caused from standing a lot, walking or running in the wrong type of shoes (especially shoes that are not supporting your heel properly) and from being overweight. You, relieve this achiness that is caused from this plantar fascia by stretching your foot. (It is more beneficial if you can this first thing in the morning.)
- Sit and cross your foot that hurts over the knee of your other leg.
- Grasp the toes of the foot that hurts and pull them up toward your shin. Do this movement until you start to feel a stretching like feeling in the arch area of your foot.
- Begin massaging the arch area with the thumb of your other hand. This can help to strengthen the plantar fascia while loosening up the tissues that surrounds it.
- Hold this position for 10 seconds. Repeat a few more times.
Yes, it can be that simple to relieve the achiness in your fingers and to relieve your heel pain. Why not try these simple steps today if you are suffering from either of these conditions?
