Get a count of how many vases you will need. You should also decide on what style of vase you want. Are you going for a more contemporary wedding, or does your theme better match a Cinderella fairy tale wedding? Save-on-crafts has a large selection of vases to view. See Resources for link. You can use this website to find vases that fit your theme, print pictures, and then take them to the rental company to see if they have any vases available that fit your style. You will also need to decide on a color. You might make things easier by sticking with clear glass, but if they have colors that match your wedding colors, they would be a nice accent to your décor.
Discuss your desire to rent vases with your florist. Most florists will rent the vases to you for a small fee. It's cheaper than buying the vases and you can have them delivered with your flowers already in them. Besides, after the wedding is over, are you really going to need 20 tall cylinder vases? Some florists might even allow you to use the vases for free as long as you return them clean and undamaged. You will need an accurate count of how many vases you need so the florist can see if they have that many in their inventory. You might have less of a selection when it comes to styles, but it would be easier and cheaper to rent directly from the florist.
Check with the company you are renting other materials from. The company you are renting your table linens from might have vases as well. They would likely have a better selection as well. By renting vases from a company you are already using, you can save money on delivery fees. However, if the rental agency doesn't have vases in stock or doesn't have the style you desire, you can search for other wedding vendors at Party Pop. See Resources for link. You can also search classifieds such as Craigslist under "Event Services" to see if anyone in your area has vases available to rent.
Check your order before signing the delivery receipt. Although the package says "handle with care", it is very rarely toted around as if it were a newborn child. A lot of times, fragile glassware such as vases can become cracked or broken during shipment from just a tiny bit of mishandling. You should check the order once it arrives to make sure no pieces are broken. You certainly don't want to be charged for any pieces that were broken or damaged upon arrival. You will also need to order replacements for broken vases in plenty of time before the ceremony.
Clean the vases. After use, you should clean the vases-especially if you were able to use them free of charge. It's not likely the vases will need a heavy cleaning since they were only used for a short period of time. However, it's a good measure to rinse them out and clean off any fingerprints that might be on the outside. Also, mineral deposits sometimes build up on the inside of the vase. If this happens to you, cleaning is simple and easy. Just fill the vase with warm water and drop a couple of denture cleaning tablets in. The tablets will remove any mineral deposits on the side of the vase.
