Mold is not only gross and disgusting but it can be harmful to your health. You should always remove mold at its first appearance. This isn't as easy as it sounds sometimes. Here are some tips to get rid of nasty mold.

Sometimes the best remedies are household ones. This is the case with mold too. Cola is very successful at removing mold. Pour cola on the mold and let it soak in thoroughly. Douse a sponge with more cola and start scrubbing the mold. For stubborn mold you may have to let the cola sit longer. The advantage of using cola to get rid of nasty mold is that most times you have it around your house. Even if you don't, it's fairly cheap to buy. Cola also doesn't have any harsh chemical odors.

Another household item that may be effective at getting rid of nasty mold is white vinegar. While not as abrasive as mold, a good soaking with vinegar and a rough sponge may do the trick.

For those scientists, a homemade mixture of ½ cup hydrogen peroxide and 2 cups water will remove mold. Pour the mixture is a spray bottle and douse the areas affected with mold. It is best to leave the mixture on at least one hour before rinsing the residue and mold away.

If you are looking for stronger means to get rid of nasty mold, CLR is very effective at eliminating mold. CLR can be found at department stores or Wal-Mart. To remove the mold, apply the CLR and wipe it away. Another method to try is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, which removes almost everything.

All of these tips can help you get rid of nasty mold. Your house will be fresher and cleaner without the appearance of unsightly mold. You will also be ensuring your family's health from them breathing in toxic mold spores. So, make eliminating mold from your home a priority. It can be done easily with the above ways.
