The first thing that you are going to need is a large bucket of water. No it is not to drown the pests, but it's a safety precaution. Now get a good size candle that is protected by a glass or something and a newspaper. You might need a ladder, and if that is the case, you will definitely want to get a friend to make sure the thing stays steady and nothing goes wrong. Also a super soaker or other type of portable water carrying devise will help. Now that you have all that you need light the candle and get to work.
First, you should roll a few of the pages of the newspapers into improvised torches. Take the paper so that when it's done you will light one corner and hold onto the opposite corner. You will probably want to make these with three or four pages so that it will burn a little hotter and longer. Role it up so that you kind of make a cone, then crush and twist the end you plan to hold. Make sure the end you are holding is very tight so that the fire will not spread too quickly, now feather out the loose part of the torch so that it will catch on fire easily. It should kind of look like an opening flower when you are done
Now that you have assembled your torch light it on fire and take it to the bottom of the tent worm's web. It should start curling away from the fire. It will kind of be disturbing once you hit the nest of the tent worms so be ready to burn them without mercy. Be careful because some of them will try to escape from the fire by crawling up the branch. Keep an eye on this and burn the escapers. Make sure to be careful when you do this because you don't want to burn yourself. If it starts getting anywhere near your hand toss the thing into the bucket of water so that it won't burn anything unintended. After that light another one of your newspaper torches and continue burning. If the branch catches on fire, spray it with the super soaker before it can go anywhere. Remember to use your judgment and be extra careful when you are dealing with fire. If you have any feelings that there is a risk, such as if the place where you live is in drought, or the branch is dead do not do this. Remember if you have any problems put out the fire and do not continue.
