Tips for Seeing Disney on Broadway

Mary Poppins Review

Dorothy Michaels
Disney on Broadway. There isn't a nicer way to spend the day or evening with your family. Disney will never let you down. The artistic talent and creativeness is always a spectacular and well thought out event. Disney on Broadway's Mary Poppins is no exception. My husband and I have gone to many Broadway shows throughout the years and Mary Poppins is definitely in the top five shows we have seen in our life time so far.

Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way. My husband and I took our daughters, Amber 14, and Casey, 8, old to see Mary Poppins this year. The best seat in the house when you bring a child is the front row mezzanine. There is room to maneuver and the children can stand and even shake their booties. Bring a plastic bag so you can put the coats, gloves and hats in the bag and not have them on the chairs behind your back. or landing on the floor. The front mezzanine has a decent amount of room and if you have ever gone to a Broadway show, you will know what I mean when I say the other seats are tight.

With nobody in front of you, you don't have to worry about conquering "the annoying big head in front of you" syndrome.

Now I know that Broadway shows are very expensive and to take the family -- even just two adults and two kids -- in these economic times, it can be enough to say "no way." Tickets for the show have gone on sale along with two other Disney on Broadway shows. Kids go free from Jan. 6 to March 13.

With the purchase of one full price ticket, one child 18 years of age and younger goes free to the same performance. There aren't any "blackout times nor blackout dates" -- all performances, all shows and all kids. Now this is "practically perfect." So go Chim Chim Chiminey your way over to Disney.go.com/theater/MaryPoppins and order your tickets today.

At the end of the show, our 7-years-old stated in her sweet whisper of a voice: "this was the best day of my life......ever."
