Even though it is extremely important that you put a sign in your yard, what you decide to say on the sign is also important. How many times have you drove around the neighborhood and saw a big red for sale sign in someone's yard? Even though this alerted potential homebuyers that the house was for sale, what other details that it give them about the property? Was the home priced below market value? Were they willing to do some type of owner financing? Was the home in a great location? These are just some of the different types of additional information that you may want to relay to a potential homebuyer. So again, give the homebuyer more information than "for sale."
If you look around in your local Yellow Pages, you will find that there are a ton of sign companies that a more than capable of creating a very noticeable sign for you to display in your yard, and most of these are very competitively priced. So just be sure to shop around before making a final decision. Some sign companies will even go so far as to offer you some blank Corrugated Plastic yards signs that you can customize with a thick permanent marker. This is a highly recommend method of getting your property noticed. Remember that it isn't a good idea to buy for sale signs in bulk, because you will more than likely not be using them again anytime in the immediate future.
Some other important information that you will definitely want to include on your sign is your phone number, a website address where people can go to get additional information, and some people even use a 24 hour recorded phone line. These are very inexpensive, and you will be amazed at the amount of traffic that you can collect just by offering this services alone. Make sure that you clearly show that the 24-hour number will direct them to a recorded message, as this will increase the number of people that will actually give you a call
Another good idea is to create a flyer about your property and any other properties that you may have, so that people will be able to take the information with them when they leave. You never know, someone may be on their way to church, school, or on their way to work, and they may not have time to stop and look at your property, but may be very impressed with what they saw from the road, but did not have time to stop. You definitely wouldn't want to lose out on that opportunity. They just might have been the perfect buyer for your home.
Last but not least if you have a mobile phone be sure to include that non-blonde you'll sign is where. This would definitely increase your chances of putting someone into your home super bad.
