Tips for New Semi Truck Lease Operators

Times Are Hard and I Hope These Tips Help

Kelli Stowe
As you may know with the economy the way it is today truck lease operators are feeling the financial lows that are being felt all over the United States. Semi Truck lease rates are as high as they have ever been and truck load rates are at their lowest.

Weather you are working for a trucking company or on your own it can be financially draining making the truck payments, maintaining the truck and paying for fuel if your truck isn't running 24 hours a day except for resets, meal time and breaks of course .

Team driving is one way to keep your truck running. Most trucking companies have a list of drivers that are waiting to Team up with someone. If you are married and can stand being cooped up with your mate, teaming up with you wife or husband is a very beneficial option.

One option is being a trainer. Most trucking companies have programs to train you to be a trainer but you will need to have a certain amount of truck driving experience under your belt.

Being a trainer will benefit you in two ways.

  1. Your truck will be running 24 hours a day except for resets, meal time and breaks of course.
  2. A good feeling that you have helped people to be safe and productive truck drivers.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do, be safe out there and God bless you for making it easier to feed and cloth our families. I hope that our countries economy changes for the better soon.
