Tips for Shopping on Black Friday in Memphis, Tennessee

Shopping the day after Thanksgiving sales can always be fun, exciting, and stressful! We all want to take advantage of the deals that many companies only have once a year, but the resources can quickly run out. Here a few tips on being the best shopper on Best Friday 2006.

1. MAKE A LIST: It is important to make a list of the things that you plan to buy so that you will not become distracted from all the buying chaos that goes along with shopping the day after Thanksgiving sales. Organize your list so that if some of the things you planned to get end up out of stock, you will have purchased the most important items on your list.

2. PURCHASE A NEWSPAPER ON THANKSGIVING DAY: On Thanksgiving Day, the newspapers are filled with ads from stores all around the city. The advertisements show where the biggest sales will be on all of your favorite items. Many parents use the sales ads as their shopping list to check off on all the things they need to get for the Christmas Holidays. Coupons are many times included, which helps when you are trying to direct your attention other places.

3. WATCH TELEVISION. Some advertisements may have more information in their commercials. There are different rules for different stores in each town so make sure that you know all the specifics of shopping in your neighborhood.

4. ASK AROUND: Whether you make a call or walk-in, asking around the stores that you plan to shop on this respective day could be helpful when all of the commotion is going on around Best Friday. There are some sales representatives who may be more informed on different details than others. They may know exactly where the merchandise will be positioned on that day, or even have the inside scoop on extra deals (coupons, rebates, etc.).

5. SHOP EARLY: This is one of the most important steps in the pursuit of finding the best bargains on the Friday after Thanksgiving sales. Why? The stores will be open hours earlier than usual and if you get there late, many of the materials you may have wanted to buy will be sold out. I know personally how hard it is to have stayed up late from eating all that turkey and making memories with family on to have four or five hours sleep, but getting there early is definitely worth it!

6. LOCATION IS IMPORTANT. Knowing which store locations you plan to shop is essential to your buying strategy because if the stores are spread all over the district, time will most certainly be an issue. Try to stay within one location. Find a plaza or an area that has all of the stores within a distance, meaning no longer than a few miles apart.

7. TIMING IS ALSO IMPORTANT. To reiterate from one of the tips above, make certain to get up around 3:30 in the morning at the latest, for some people do not even sleep! Some people stand outside stores like Walmart or Bust Buy all night long, just so they can be the first ones to get all of the sale merchandise.

8. DO NOT GET SIDE TRACKED. Make sure you know exactly what you want to buy because if you do not, then the items can quickly run out. Do not let others influence you to buy more than you bargained for.

9. GO WITH GROUPS: Sometimes if you take someone else along, you can multitask and find all of the bargains that you need in less the time.

10. KNOW THE RETURN POLICY: This is the bonus tip because what you wanted may not be as nearly as satisfactory when you get it. Having knowledge of the return policy gives you the right to get your money back and in the right frame of time.

Follow these tips on shopping this Best Friday and you are sure to be more satisfied with the items you purchase. Have a Happy Shopping Day!
