Being a college student can be a lot of fun, but what do you do when you run low on cash and you need to start making extra money in college? Well you have a few options. You can take out a loan, you can beg your friends and family for more money, sell your things on ebay, or you can start making money online. Being a college student myself, I decided to search for ways to make money online. You might have heard stories that the only way to make money online is to scam and spam people, but after over a year of experience, that's simply not true. There are legit opportunities online for a college student to be making a lot of extra money while in college.

Affiliate marketing

By doing affiliate marketing, you are basically promoting another person's product for a set fee or commission. What this means is that every time you send a customer to a merchant's website (ex. Amazon) through your specific link (affiliate link), and the customer buys, you get a percentage of the profits. Online, you can promote physical products like a skateboard on Amazon.com, and you can also promote digital products and software, like Adobe Photoshop or an e-cook book. There are so many different products to choose from, that you can literally promote anything you want.

Creating your own product

This sounds a lot harder than it actually is. Just about anybody these days can create a product online and sell it. The best kind of product to make to sell online would be a digital one, like a recording, an e-book, or a video. What kind of product could you make? Any type of product that helps people solve a problem or answers a question can be sold and will definitely be bought. If you or someone you know is particularly good at something, make a video of yourself doing it or record yourself explaining how to do it. For example, just the other day I saw a product that was made up of a series of videos on how to tie a tie. All you need to make these types of products are either a mic, a camcorder or simply a keyboard.

These are just two possible ways to make extra money in college, and have helped many make not just extra money but a living working online.
