When a couple has a long distance relationship, there is some extra effort required by both parties to maintain and stay close. It can be easy to drift apart emotionally when distance comes into play. I hope these tips can help you live a happy life and have a good relationship.
When I am asked for long distance relationship advice, this is something that I am very familiar with. I have been travelling the world for the past twenty years on tour with various bands/artists as part of the tour crew. Since I have also been married for the past 10 years and I have 3 children, I would say I am an expert on long distance relationships. There are several points that I would like to point out to help you succeed. The first thing is that you must trust each other. Trust is earned and not automatic. When apart, it can be especially difficult to gain trust, so the best way that I have found is to make sure those each other is available at all times to be contacted by the other person. This means, each person should have a cell phone so the other person can get in touch with you. The person calling must understand that life is busy and if a person is working, then it may be impossible to carry on a long detailed conversation. For these times, each person has to understand that the relationship will continue right where it left off when the time is better for a longer conversation. The phone should be answered every time, even if it is only for 5 seconds to let the other person know that you are ok, the relationship is ok, and you mean a lot to them and that you will talk in a while when they are less busy.
With a long distance relationship, it is important for each person to know the others schedule for each day, perhaps days in advance. This will reduce the amount of bad feelings and insecurity associated with not being able to speak to the other person because there will be an understanding of what the other person is doing at that moment. This leads me to my next key point which understanding.
Each person must be understanding of their partners needs in their business and personal life. This will require some clear communication explaining to each other what their work requires of them, or what they need in their personal life whether it be a sleep schedule, food schedule, or anything else that one personally needs.
I certainly hope that these short tips can help you in your life.
