Black Friday is a great way to get some unbelievable deals. However, to get these deals and to enjoy this morning, it has to be planned out in advance.
Think of Black Friday as a major event, for this what it really is. It is the one day of the year, in which the stores can make some really great money. It is also the one day of the year; consumers can get some really great bargains. However, these bargains can be limited. This is why a plan must be made.
Step one: Do your research
Days before Black Friday arrives, start doing your research. What store will be offering what merchandise for sale prices? Which stores actually have what you want? Compare these prices and compare the brands? Remember many stores will be carrying off brands during this event. Will the purchase of off brands suit you?
How can you find out what stores will be offering what? Your best bet is to go to this site blackfriday.org and sign up for email alerts. Anytime, they hear of a new Black Friday sale, they will send this information to your mail box. Then you just clink on the links that interest you. Did you know that some stores will begin leaking their Black Friday sales as soon as November 1st?
You can also get a Thanksgiving Day newspaper and actually see the newspaper ads yourself. Just remember, you may need to head to the store early to get this paper or they may run out of copies.
Step two: Make your list
You need to make a list of what items you want to purchase at each store. This will make it easier once you get inside the store.
Step three: Enlist a friend or family member To Shop With You That Morning
It can be hard to find all the bargains by yourself. Ask a friend or family member to tag along with you that morning. Make sure you are both armed with lists from each store. Once you get inside the store, each of you should go your own way. However, be sure to designate a meeting spot. It is also a good idea for both of you to carry a cell phone. Then you can communicate with one another while you are shopping.
Step Four: Decide The Order Of Shoping For The Day
Before you head to the stores, decide where you are going. This means you should decide which stores have the most items you want. When deciding this factor, check to see what the opening time is for each store.
Step Five: Dress In Layers
When the morning arrives, plan to leave extra early. You will need time to park. You should also dress in layers. Yes, it may be cold outside and you will need to stand in line, as you wait for the doors to open. However, once you get inside, you may find yourself warming up real quick as you work your way through the crowd.
Step Six: Count to ten
The main thing about shopping during these Black Friday sales is that you must have patience. People will be rude. This means you must be able to count to ten and have patience. If you know you can't do this, you may want to skip the sales and shop online.
