Here are 10 tips to help you Spring Break pictures turn out more fun and fantastic.
Spring Break Beach pictures: Taking Spring Break pictures are challenging because the bright sun often cause shadows on the face or tends to make your friends squint their eyes.
1. To help eliminate shadows on your friends faces, use your fill flash setting on your camera. If you do not have a fill flash setting, simply make your flash come on with every picture. Yes, it drains extra batteries but the end result of having great Spring Break photos is worth it. You do not need the red eye setting outdoors.
2. Have your friends turn their backs to the sun so no one has their eyes closed from the blinding light. This sounds simple but is often forgotten.
3. Take lots of candid Spring Break photos on the beach as well as posed group shots. The best photos are the unexpected ones on the beach. Take lots of photos of your friends fooling around, passed out, trying to talk to that hot girl or guy and in the water.
Nightclub and bar pictures: What would Spring Break be without great nightclub and bar pictures.
4. Have your camera's flash set to always flash. Nightclub lighting can trick your camera into thinking there is plenty of light when actually there is not. Most pictures in nightclubs and bars look better this way. Using the red eye function is helpful at eliminating all the red eyes but often cause great smiles and poses to be lost in the delay.
5. Take pictures with everyone you meet at the nightclub. Don't be afraid to ask the bartenders or shooter girls to take a picture with you. Have someone who works at the bar take pictures of you.
6. Wet t-shirt contest pictures are a Spring Break tradition. Take plenty pictures of the wet T-shirt contest or booty shake contest. Ladies, don't forget to take pictures of the guys contest too.
Taking photos in bright lighting outdoors often makes your pictures look washed out in some spots and dark in other from shadows.
7. To make Spring Break photos look better in bright sunlight use your flash. At first they may not seem to make sense to add more light, this will help your overall picture turn out more even and detailed. After you return home a quick lighting fix in a photo editing program and your Spring Break pictures will be great. If you do not own any photo editing software, www.Photobucket.com or www.flickr.com are free to use and will easily fix your pictures.
Taking photos of famous landmarks and buildings on you Spring Break vacation.
8. Have your yourself and your friends in the picture instead of just the landmark or building. Many travelers often take a picture of a landmark or building without anyone in the picture and after they come home never look at the picture again. Grab someone who works at the landmark or a nearby stranger and ask them to take a group shot for you.
Underwater photos at the beach and pool.
9. Purchase a good disposable under water camera. Both Kodak and Fuji make great disposable underwater cameras. Do not forget to use the flash in all pictures.
My last tip may be the most important one of any Spring Break photo tip.
10. Bring extra batteries everywhere you go. Trying to search for a new battery when you are having fun is definitely no fun. If you camera uses rechargeable batteries either buy a spare or be sure to charge it every night you come back to your room. So many great Spring Break pictures get ruined by the shock of realizing your battery has died.
You will enjoy your Spring Break photos for years to come. Nothing quite beats the thrill of emailing or posting embarrassing Spring Break photos of your friends on Myspace or Facebook when you return home.
