Chinese Sheetrock can be very dangerous to the health of you and your family. If you have been worried about having problematic Chinese Sheetrock in your home there may be some simple tests that you can perform in your house to help you. Take some precautions and perform these tests to help you determine if you have defective Chinese Sheetrock.

1. The first test in determining if you have bad Chinese Sheetrock in your home is smell. If you have noticed a pungent smell coming from your home lately you need to find the source. Bad Chinese Sheetrock has been reported to give off a smell similar to faint Sulfur.

2. If you have noticed metals corroding around your home you need to be concerned. Harmful Chinese Sheetrock has been shown to be harmful to copper pipes and copper wires found inside homes. If you have noticed that your metallic wall hangings have been turning black it could be due to contaminated Sheetrock. A simple test you can perform is to take a piece of silverware and place or hang in front of your air conditioners return air vent. If after a couple of days you notice a black material clinging to your silver you need to be concerned.

3. The third test is similar to the second. If you own a relatively new home and your central air conditioner has given out prematurely you need to hire a professional AC specialist to come in and inspect your unit. An air conditioning specialist should easily be able to tell you if you have a corrosion problem with your unit.

4. The fourth test you could perform is a bit of a no-brainer. Use a screwdriver and remove several of your electrical plates and switch covers. You may find an edge of the Sheetrock that states it was made in China. If none of your switch covers and plate covers reveal these tags you can go into your attic and pull away some insulation to read the paper edgings.

5. Finally, if you or a member of your family has had any kind of new respiratory problem since moving into your home you should be extremely concerned. Problematic Chinese Sheetrock has been found to cause respiratory problems in homeowners due to the nasty emissions that pollute the air. Consult a Doctor if you suspect your problem is due to Chinese Sheetrock.

Most defective Sheetrock to date has been found in the Southeastern United States. If your home was remodeled or built between 2005 and 2008 you need to take the necessary steps to protect your families health and your investment.

I wish we'd stop importing chinese crap altogether. Oh, WAIT! American manufacturing companies are lapdogs of the chinese, now that we don't make anything ourselves.
