Tips for Tourists Visiting the Lake George Area in New York

Mag Inzire
Lake George in New York is one of the most beautiful places on earth to visit. There is no doubt that the natural beauty of such a wonderful place is the best vacation spots in all of New York. Surrounded by magnificent mountains and nestled along the shore of clear blue waters is the most majestic of all sites that you will ever encounter.

As a current resident of the Lake George region and a former vacationer of such a fabulous place I have to truly say that this has to be one of the most peaceful and striking places to ever visit. It is a spectacular place for all ages with tons of things to do.

There are beaches and pools to relax and cool off during the summer. One of the most famous beaches in Lake George is the Million Dollar beach which is in the heart of Lake George Village. The beach is "free" and the parking is only $6 per car and $3 per motorcycle. The Million Dollar Beach has great changing rooms, a spot to eat and the most "sand". Volleyball is popular game here and it is a great place to take the little ones for an outing as they can easily be watched. There are lifeguards on duty while the beach is open. Across the beach is large picnic area with barbecue grills to incorporate in a fun-filled packed day.

Nearby in the Town of Queensbury there is the Gurney Lane Pool which is just 15 minutes south of Lake George. The large outdoor swimming pool with a diving area has a beautiful bathhouse and a great children's play area. They as well have a picnic area with BBQ Grills. And close by you can enjoy a small pond stocked with trout. Come the winter time this same pond is turned into a small ice skating rink with sledding available also.

There is plenty to do during all seasons of the year. A host of activities are planned year round which include the Lake George Winter Carnival, which is full of fun for all ages. The winter carnival starts on January 1st and continues for weeks with parades, hot air balloon rides, cruises, cook-offs, children's activities and much more.

Other activities hosted throughout every year include the Americade, which is a motorcycle rally that takes place in Lake George, NY annually. There is also the Adirondack balloon festival held in the fall with tons of hot air balloons to see along with plenty of activities to accompany this spectacular site. There are steamboat cruises on Lake George, apple and pumpkin picking, plenty of places to hike and very much desirable areas to ski such as West Mountain. As you can see there is never a dull moment in the New York Lake George region.

Whatever you plan during the year Lake George in New York is definitely a place to visit. No matter what you have in mind whether it be relaxing, or being up and about having a blast this is one place to have it all. Information about any of these activities or upcoming events can be found at lakegeorge.com.

Wonderful article! Lake George brings some of the happier memories close to me! Very close to Hot Springs, Ar; where I was born. I loved the one time I went. The more you remind me of peaceful memories, the more you excite me to venture some of the roads of my past again, but now in a whole new light. Thank you so much gal for the memory I wanted tonight!
