I have found similar recipes with a different ingredient that is plentiful in the area of the country I live in. Besides, I don't know about you, I don't want to spend all day in the kitchen and miss spending time with family.

Forget the traditional turkey dinner.

I'm not saying skip the turkey all together just try out new dishes for Thanksgiving. There is a turkey roulade recipe in the ebook that can be made in place of the big bird everyone is use to on Thanksgiving. Making this turkey dish can cut your leftover turkey down by quite a bit if you get tired of having enough left over to feed the neighborhood.

Use the craft and decorating ebooks as a guide for decorating your home for Thanksgiving. Be aware that all the items used in the projects or as decor may not be available due to new trends that are out on the market. Use your imagination and personality to help with changing up some of the items used.

Check availability of stencils.

Not all stencils used in the craft and decoration patterns may be available. If they aren't, find stencils that fit in the theme of your home and personality. Not everything craft related has to be trendy.

Find free or near free stuff to use in your Thanksgiving and fall crafts.

When you feel the need to get out of the house, take a drive along the back roads in your county near the town you live in. More times than not, you can find gourds of different sizes and shapes. While you're out scavenging for the gourds, you may be surprised when find such things as pinecones, acorns, and other items that you can use to make your crafts or to use independently as decor for your home. If you think it looks neat, take it home with you.

Check your home for items on hand to use as part of your craft project.

That gold colored dish or pumpkin candle can be used as part of the craft project. For example, on your outing searching for gourds, you find several large pinecones. The large gold dish you have can be used as the container for your pinecones. Then consider adding some fake fall leaf stems or something similar to add some punch to the centerpiece.

Plain and easy tablecloths.

Forget buying a tablecloth you will use once a year or during the fall. Consider using a plain fall colored sheet that will fit one of your beds. The flat sheet can be folded in half for smaller tables. Longer rectangular tables leave the sheet unfolded and cover the table as you would with a tablecloth. If you want to spruce up your chairs, use fall colored pillow cases and slide over the backs of the chairs.
