Tips and Tricks for Getting Stuck in Zelda Twilight Princess

Chris Tidwell
Zelda Twilight Princess is the latest in the popular Nintendo series that has been released for both the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo Gamecube. This game is very challenging and is full of many puzzles and tricks that might confuse the average gamer, and put a few road blocks in front of those devoted fans of the series, however there are a few simple rules that you can use to help you get through the game.

If at first you don't succeed... Smash it! Many times in Zelda Twilight Princess you'll find yourself in a situation where nothing seems to work. Your special weapon you found in this area has no effect, no other weapon seems to work, you can't burn your obstacle, so what to you do? Revert to basics, try slashing with your sword, rolling head first into an object (using your head here) or blowing something up with a bomb. All these methods sound crude, but come into play more times in Twilight Princess more so then any other game in the series.

Follow Link's or Minda's eyes. All through the game you'll notice that Link and Minda, when you're in wolf form, will look directly at a key point of interest. Both will look at switches, ropes, enemies, anything that is essential to your survival or game play. So pay attention to where your characters are looking, they may lead you to the next part of the level and help you find other secrets throughout the game.

Refer to your map often. This will allow you to keep track of your current location, and you'll b able to move faster through the game. Each area may have multiple exits, but only one will lead you to the place you wish to go. Play referring to your map often you can plot a course and stop yourself from getting lost so often. You really don't want to become the "missing Link"

Pay attention to bold lettered words. This may sound like an obvious tip, but it will really come in handy. If a character refers to the "North Bridge" and it's highlighted in red text, chances are that your next destination should be the North Bridge. This will help you focus on what direction the game is going in and will help you find your way when your stuck.

Talk to everyone (or at least most everyone). Many times the places you need to go or clues to riddles and puzzles lie within the words that people speak. This goes right along with the previous tip about paying attention to bold letters.

Think outside the box! One of the most intriguing features about the Zelda series is the way in which you have to think outside the box. How will certain elements of the game affect other aspects of play? When faced with a puzzle that seems impassable, eliminate the possible, and then think about the impossible.

Zelda is a simple, yet complex game that is fun to play, but tough to work through. The best advice is to search out the obvious and re-examine what you think you have already figured out. Chances are that if you're stuck then you have overlooked something very plain and obvious.
