Tips and Tricks to Mobsters Overdrive for Facebook and Myspace

Brandon Miller
Mobsters Overdrive is the street racing version of Mobsters, a web-based mafia game created by Playdom. In the game, crews of racers complete missions and race other crews to claim the top spot of the street racing world. The Overdrive application is accessible on both of the top social networking sites Facebook and Myspace. Since the game for both Myspace and Facebook are identical, these tips and tricks can be beneficial for players using either platform.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #1: The size of your crew will determine your success in the game. To grow your crew, start by sending invites to your Facebook or Myspace friends. Keep in mind that this method may not yield the number of crew members that you desire. Not to worry. There are many other places to find additional crew members. Try joining and posting to a Facebook or Myspace group dedicated to helping players connect and gain more members. You can also announce your need for members on the news feeds and broadcast board under the main menu.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #2: The cars in the game range from American muscle to high-end exotic rides. Each member of your crew can drive one vehicle during races. While it can be fun to check out and purchase new cars, this can be very expensive. Since cars only sell for half the value that you paid for them, you should make sure that an upgrade is necessary. For example, if you are still able to easily win races with the cars that you have, there is no immediate need to fork out the cash for new rides. However, wait until you start loosing occasionally to make the upgrade. This will ensure that you get your money's worth out of each of the vehicles that you currently own.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #3: Owning property is an important part of the game. This ensures that you have a steady reliable income. Since most of the cars and equipment have an hourly upkeep charge, you should make sure that you have enough income to keep the items from being repossessed by the bank. Owning property in the game relies heavily on having enough Facebook or Myspace crew members to operate the property. Other than a couple properties, you will need crew members to purchase the rest. Make sure that you allocate your crew members properly. Twelve crew members operating two luxury car showrooms will generate $27,000 an hour in income, while the same twelve members can operate one auto assembly line for an hourly income of $106,000.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #4: As you complete missions and races, some of your vehicles and equipment will eventually wear out and become damaged. Since each racer on your team can use thirteen pieces of equipment during races, you should make sure that you always have enough gear to go around. As you progress through the levels, new equipment will be unlocked. When replacing damaged items in your inventory, check to see if there are better, more powerful replacements available.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #5: As you reach milestones in your Facebook or Myspace racing career, you will earn favor points from the agent. You can trade in these points for cash, unique items, more crew members, or refills on fuel, integrity, or stamina. Hang onto these points as long as possible. There is only a limited quantity of favor points, and it is better to have them for when you absolutely need to use them.

Mobsters Overdrive Tip #6: So you have been playing Overdrive for a while, but you wish you could have done some things differently. Not a problem. The game allows Facebook and Myspace players to create up to three accounts under one user. When a new account is created, players are able to start over completely and still keep your same Facebook or Myspace crew, favor points, and achievement medals acquired to date.

Mobsters Overdrive can offer a great opportunity for Myspace and Facebook players to engage and interact with their friends. Not only will the game challenge and entertain you, it could also open up the opportunity to acquire new friends in the Myspace and Facebook worlds. Whether you are a new gamer or experienced player, these tips will help to maximize your Mobsters Overdrive experience.
