There are many different types of arches, but you can easily learn to decorate them in your wedding style. Your first goal is to find an arch. You can find these in many different locations, depending on the style you want to decorate it. Arches are available at craft stores, garden stores, and through fencing companies as well. They come in a variety of materials (wood, iron, vinyl), colors, heights, and shapes. Some are plain and some are more fancy. Arches can be cheap or expensive, but one thing is certain: you can use your unique style to create a beautifully decorated wedding arch!
There are some important things to think about when deciding how to decorate your arch:
> What are your wedding colors?
> Do you have a wedding theme?
> Is this an outdoor/indoor wedding?
> Is your wedding in the winter/spring/summer/fall?
Using these guidelines, you can quickly decide how to decorate your arch.
Here are some examples of arch decoration that can be adapted to fit your style:
Suppose you will have a spring outdoor wedding, and your wedding colors are yellow and blue. You might choose a white lattice arch and weave your wedding flowers in and out of it.
Or, you are going to have a beach theme wedding. One way to decorate your arch would be to use netting and starfish or other sea shells to cover your arch. If you aren't going to actually be at the beach, you can place sand underneath it, or even hang small bottles of beach sand from toile for affect.
Victorian garden wedding arches might be iron, and would be beautifully adorned with fresh English Roses. Or in the Victorian air, you can intermingle strands of pearls and flower buds in toile.
Lastly, a winter wedding would be exquisite with a natural wood arch draped with organza and white Christmas lights. Putting pine trees behind it would be a great way to complete the look. Or if you want crafty Christmas wedding decor, you can place gingerbread men on it, and plaid craftsman ribbon and raffia. Of course, greenery would be an elegant way to feel the spirit of winter.
Using florists' wire, it is extremely easy to attach a variety of objects. Simply wrap it around the object to be attached and interweave it through the arch, or the other materials on the wedding arch.
No matter what, you can achieve the look you want that will symbolize the beauty of the love you share and pledge to one another. And all of this will be done under your beautifully decorated wedding arch.
