For anybody, having the ability to protect and defend themselves is extremely important. In today's society, a woman who's usually smaller and less capable of evading an attack is more susceptible to an unexpected and spontaneous unwanted contact of any kind. Since these encounters can come at the most unexpected times, knowing the skills to defend yourself and aid in fighting off an attacker is valuable, even if it's just long enough for help to arrive.

Whether it be someone intending on a mugging, abducting, or having their way with you, the threats are real and quick, precise action could mean the difference in life or death. There are specific techniques that are meant not to completely impair and injure the attacker, but simply stun, or hurt them just enough to either scare them away, make them give up, or fall down giving you the chance to run.

The basic self defense tactics include eye gouges and strikes, kicks and pulls the groin. However, if you wish, more techniques can be learned that will further injure the attacker. Whichever you choose, having the optional defense techniques memorized and down pat is key the efficiency of your defense.

Upon being attacked, one of the most effective first moves is a powerful kick to the groin. When done with all your might, no male will be left unphased. In a best case scenario, he will fall to the ground, giving you the opportunity to run. However, if he is able to ignore the pain and continues with his attack, there are more methods of getting yourself out of trouble.

You can follow up with kicking, biting, eye gouging, and intense scratching, the longer the nails the better. There are not many positions that you can be put in that you are completely incapable of causing some harm to the attacker. Even maneuvers that seem small like kicking at the legs, or pulling hair will only increase your chances of escaping safely. Often, minor assaults will detract the attacker and enable more effective ones to be made.

One of the next extremely affect moves is the hitting of the Adam's apple and throat. This can interrupt his respiration. This lack of oxygen might cause him to become temporary enable to partake in a physical altercation.

Just remember that following through with multiple hits, gouges, scratching etc, will defiantly increase your chances of escape. Head butts, knees, elbowing, and straight up punches are all good tactics that you should practice and become somewhat effect and accurate with.
